Before you add a single site, read what the record says about its county: declarations, storm events, flood claims, the costliest and deadliest years — each figure linked to the federal row it came from. Free, and indexed, so your surveyor can read the same page.

How the probability column is filled

3 HIGH — three or more federal disaster declarations naming the county, or at least one recorded event a year. 2 MODERATE — at least one declaration, or one event per ten years. 1 LOW — rarer than that, or none on record. A hazard the record does not measure is left blank, never scored zero. The rule is printed on every document, so a surveyor can check it against the sources.
