About Calchis
Calchis is a catastrophe intelligence platform for the United States. It reads the federal hazard feeds as they update, holds seventy years of disaster records, and runs a hazard and loss model whose methodology, sources and validation record are published. It is built for the people who answer for the risk: county emergency managers, hospital and multi-site facility operators, property underwriters, and the insurance-linked securities market.

What it is made of
Three layers, each documented on its own page.
- Live. USGS, NOAA and the National Hurricane Center, NASA FIRMS, NIFC and the National Weather Service, ingested on a published schedule with every record carrying its source and the time it was read. The whole list, with update cadence and rights, is on Data sources.
- Historical. NOAA storm events since 1996, FEMA declarations since 1953, IBTrACS hurricane tracks, NIFC fire perimeters, MRMS hail, the USGS earthquake catalog and NFIP claims. The county history pages under Hazard profiles are built from these tables and say, on every page, what the record cannot see.
- Model. Hazard scores and stochastic loss estimates on FEMA Hazus vulnerability functions and USGS hazard models, with the validation record and every known limit published on Methodology. A check the model fails is listed as a failure there, not removed.
What it is not
Decision-support intelligence — not a primary alerting or dispatch system. Verify against official sources. Calchis holds no security certification and has not been audited; what exists and what does not is stated on Security and in the self-assessment. Hazard scores are hazard scores, not risk scores: property exposure is not part of them until it is, and every score says so.
Who builds it
Calchis is developed and operated by Sidekick Labs LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company doing business as Calchis. The Terms of Service, Privacy Policy and Government Terms are between you and that company. Service health is published on Status; the product is documented in the Help center and the API reference.
